Dubbed ‘The Duke of the Desert’ by Rolling Stone Magazine and acclaimed for his electrifying, unforgettable sets at the world famous Moontribe Collective’s “Full Moon Gatherings”, John Kelley is considered a true pioneer of the West Coast electronic and breakbeat sounds. He is one of the two original resident DJs of the influential ‘Moontribe’ parties founded in the 1990s and held in the Mojave Desert outside Los Angeles, Kelley was one of the first to fuse House, Techno and the Breakbeat genius of UK acts such as Leftfield and Underworld, into his own distinctive style of “funky desert breaks.” His unique style gave rise to Kelley’s seminal mixes; the hugely successful “Funky Desert Breaks” and the “High Desert Soundsystem” series.
In-between touring internationally, John finds the time to carve impressive beats and hustle remix duties in the studio for his “Ball of Waxx” imprint and continues to work in the entertainment industry and as a post-audio, sound-design, and mixing professional.
